256Bank is an EU-regulated financial-infrastructure platform. We design, operate, and license our own products — banking core, distributed compute, governance — to partners and institutions across Europe.

Founded to serve the European market. The architecture treats compliance and data residency as first-order constraints, not as something bolted on later. All data, all compute, all settlement stays within EU borders.
Settlement posture
Cycles, not promises
Settlement times are features, not fine print. Every cycle is published, every state transition is recorded, every reconciliation is auditable. Members see when money moves and through which cycle — not "fast" or "instant," but a specific cut-off.
Distribution posture
Enterprise and institutional only
We work with carefully selected counterparties. No mass-market licensing. No consumer-side distribution outside partner-issued products. The dual-channel brand system — own-channel and network-channel — reflects how those relationships sit in product.
Engineering posture
AI-augmented engineering
A very small core team augmented by AI engineering sessions governed by Superstructure. Every session reads the project briefing before touching code. Every change is tagged REAL or MOCK. The discipline is the work-stream.
Governance posture
ADR-first. Every time.
Every architecture decision lives in a written record before code is written. No silent deviations. When a partner or reviewer asks why, the answer is on file — dated, signed, and reviewable.

Financial infrastructure does not reward experimentation in the data path. We choose boring, proven primitives. We move deliberately. We do not celebrate that money moved correctly. The work speaks for itself.

256Bank is not a "lots-of-engineers" organisation. It is an obsessively-aligned one. The team is small on purpose: every person who touches the codebase reads the same briefing, follows the same review discipline, and writes against the same architecture records. The output scales because the discipline scales.
AI engineering sessions are part of that team — but they operate under the same governance kit (Superstructure) as humans do, with the same REAL/MOCK reporting, the same plan-first discipline, and the same Stop-hook that blocks completion claims if tests are red or unimplemented stubs remain. Nothing ships unless the verification protocol has actually run.
